THE ADVENTURES OF GERALD CHADBURN |

This page dedicated to Gerald Chadburn ... who at the age of 65 dared to hike
King's Canyon National Park. Congrats Chad, and thanks for sharing the adventure with us. "Although we were in bear country and were required to carry canisters, we did not see any bears. According to the forest ranger's wife, a black bear had wandered through Charlotte Lake campground two days before we arrived. The weather was warmish and beautiful (although we did get frosted over during the final night on the mountain), the wilderness was magnificent, and Mother Nature was arrayed in her finest summertime glory. Four nights, five days, 22 miles, with lots of serious uphill trekking. Another stunning excursion; this one in King's Canyon National Park about 25 miles north of Mt. Whitney." Jerry |
